Hustadvika is right on the coast and the sea as its nearest neighbour

About Hustadvika Havhotell

17 hotel rooms
13 sea houses

Hustadvika Havhotell on Storholmen is located right on the coast with the stretch of sea Hustadvika as its nearest neighbour, one of the most dramatic stretches along the Norwegian coast. Nevertheless, the coastal strip has been a pantry and workplace for the coastal people ever since the ice age 10,000 years ago.

Good food and drink

The hotel’s restaurant Flo loves to use locally sourced food and is perfectly situated for this. It’s just a stone’s throw away from the best ingredients both sea and land have to offer. Among them are cows grazing on one side of the hotel and fish and seafood from the sea on the other. We aim for all our guests to have the best experience and therefore offer many homemade products including ingredients like wild herbs, rowanberries, and seaweed that the hotel’s staff have collected themselves.

The restaurant’s vision is to offer food that tastes as wonderful as the view from the hotel and reflects its natural surroundings. We provide a seasonal menu to ensure the ingredients we use are at their very best for serving and our guests’ enjoyment. Our food is made in-house, ranging from homemade bread for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, to homemade Valrhona chocolates for evening treats.

Here, we welcome everyone to a homemade food experience!

The story

Hustadvika Havhotell is located facing Hustadvika, on the slopes of STORHOLMEN, an old trading post and fish reception. The original settlement is gone. The history of the place is nevertheless rich, not least of the drama at sea along Hustadvika, one of the coast’s most dangerous stretches.

Museum

A landmark placed on the seabed tells divers that they have arrived at the right place; the place where the Dutch merchant ship sank at the beginning of the 18th century. In 1985, two divers from Molde came across the so-called Stopleivraket located in Hustadvika, and marine archaeologists immediately took an interest in the ship.
